1. The brief
Write who you want the way you would say it to a researcher. A job ad, a forwarded client email or two sentences all work. If it is messy, press Format for me: Plucker rewrites it into a clean brief, separates the must-haves from the nice-to-haves, and researches the employers where people like this tend to work.
2. The criteria
Every profile is scored against the same short list of must-haves. You see them before anything runs and can edit, remove or add. A must-have is a gate: someone who clearly fails one does not make the shortlist, however good the rest looks. Keep must-haves to what a LinkedIn profile can actually show.
Good must-haves
- Held a Financial Controller or Head of Finance title
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Based in, or within commuting distance of, Leeds
Better as nice-to-haves
- Has a CSCS card (rarely listed on a profile)
- Open to a move (no profile says this reliably)
3. The plan
Plucker decides where to look first: the job titles that mean the same thing in your market, the employers worth targeting, and the locations. You set the target: how many candidates scoring 6 or more you want, from 5 to 100.
From there it adapts. It looks at what each search brings back and who scored well, and picks the next search from that.
4. Waves
The search works in waves. The first takes the obvious titles at the obvious employers. When those run dry, the next wave widens: adjacent job titles, alumni of your target employers, nearby locations. You do not rerun anything; the run page shows each wave and what it found.
5. Reading and scoring
Most people a search turns up are not right, and it is obvious from their headline. Plucker sets those aside first, then reads the rest in full: every role, every date, the qualifications and the About section. Each one is scored 1 to 10 against your brief, with a short written take on why, and each must-have marked as met, partly met or not shown New.
6. The shortlist
Candidates appear on the run page as soon as they are scored, best first. Star the ones you want: Plucker looks up contact details for those only, and exports and pushes use your starred list.
7. Sharing and exports
