Data and compliance, in plain English.

Where the profiles come from, what we keep, who can see it, and how a candidate can object. Written for consultants and their compliance leads, not for lawyers.

Where profiles come from

Plucker searches professional profile data and reads LinkedIn profiles at the time of the search. It only reads what a profile shows. It does not log in as a candidate, message anyone, or collect anything a person has not published on their professional profile.

What we keep

For each search we keep the brief, the criteria, and the candidates who passed the must-haves: their profile as it was read, the score and Plucker's reasoning. To confirm what is kept about people who were screened out.

Retention: To confirm how long search results are kept, and how an agency deletes a search.

Who can see it

  • Each agency's searches and shortlists are visible only to that agency's users.
  • A client link is read-only, and can be turned off or replaced at any time.
  • BLOOT staff can see an agency's searches to support it.

Contact details

Plucker looks up an email address or phone number only for candidates a consultant has starred, one person at a time. Nobody else on a shortlist is looked up.

Objecting and access requests

Anyone can ask what we hold about them, ask for it to be deleted, or object to being included in future searches. To confirm the address requests go to and the response time we commit to.

How AI is used

AI models read the brief, plan the search, and read and score profiles. Scores rank candidates; a consultant always decides who to contact. No candidate is rejected from a job by Plucker. Agency data is not used to train anyone's models. To confirm against each provider's terms.

Suppliers

We use suppliers for hosting and the database, for profile search and LinkedIn access, for contact details, and for the AI models. To confirm the published list and where each processes data.
